Actor Rajesh Dhruva, who has recently embarked on learning to play the chenda melam, shared that it took him 15 days to master the traditional percussion instrument of Kerala. Rajesh, known for his debut in the Kannada film "Shri Balaji Photo Studio," is now collaborating with director Sukesh Shetty for their upcoming project "Peter," centered around the chenda melam. To ensure an authentic portrayal, Rajesh decided to learn the fundamentals of playing the chenda. After two weeks of training, he gained the necessary skills to play the instrument, complemented by weight loss sessions to resemble a chenda artist.
In discussing the film's approach, Rajesh expressed the intention to seamlessly incorporate folk music into the narrative, aiming to offer a fresh and captivating experience for the audience. He emphasized the importance of standing out in the competitive film market and compelling viewers to choose their film.
Although Rajesh acknowledges his progress in movies, he plans to continue working in television as it provides a stable income. He remains open to exploring both mediums but aims to solidify his presence in the film industry before potentially transitioning focus.
